Former "Wild 'N Out" cast member Jacky Oh died due to "complications of cosmetic surgery," a report from Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner revealed.
The MTV star and longtime partner to comedian DC Young Fly was 32.
Jacky Oh (real name: Jacklyn Smith) died on May 31 at a local Miami-area hospital a day after undergoing a gluteal augmentation procedure, commonly referred to as a butt lift, according to a report from the medical examiner's office obtained by USA TODAY on Monday.
The medical examiner ruled her death as an accident.
The reality star "underwent the procedure without any complications" and was prescribed ciprofloxacin (antibiotic), oxycodone (an opioid for pain relief) and ondansetron (nausea and vomiting prevention) after the surgery, per the report.
Jacky Oh developed a headache following her appointment and "was advised to take ibuprofen and to discontinue the ondansetron."
According to the report, she "began to feel like her head was burning" on the evening of her death and "began to have difficulty speaking."
Her aunt, who was taking care of her post-operation, called emergency services to bring Jacky Oh to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
On June 1, "Wild 'N Out" announced the death of Jacky Oh, who they described as a "family member whose impact will be forever treasured and missed."
"Jacky Oh was a loving friend and beloved colleague of the 'Wild 'N Out' cast throughout five seasons. More importantly, she was a tremendous mother to three beautiful children. The BET Media Group extends our sincere condolences to the Smith family, DC Young Fly, B Simone, Nick Cannon, and all friends who loved and cared for Jacky Oh during this difficult time."
DC Young Fly and his family thanked fans for their condolences. "We thank everyone for their well wishes and ask for privacy during this difficult time," DC Young Fly said in a statement shared with USA TODAY by rep Tamra Goins.
Jacky Oh and comedian-musician DC Young Fly shared three children, Nova, Nala and Prince.
On June 8, DC Young Fly shared a lengthier statement on Instagram describing his late partner as a "great mother."
